Historical evolution of TheFunGarage
Although there were many, many vehicles and types of vehicles before those detailed on these pages, the current version of TheFunGarage began with Shriner Buggies.

In a small town, once the word goes out that there is a shade tree mechanic willing to repair Volkswagens for a pat on the back. . . well, the rest is Putnam County history. We remember the highlights of a few: Al, Fred, Joe, Jerry, John, Jess, Homer, Ed, Tommy, David – looking back pretty much the entire Putnam County Shrine Club Road Warriors had their buggies rebuilt, restored, and repaired in TheFunGarage at one point or another. But I digress. . . that was before it even was TheFunGarage. . .
Without a plan, TheFunGarage grew from a few twists of the wrench in the front yard to a full-scale 20 x 50 fully equipped shop creating custom vehicles for friends and associates for the amusement and astonishment of viewers countrywide. We have received applause, encouragement, and honor, and we wouldn’t have veered from the winding path for love nor money.
On display on these few pages are the few photos we remembered to collect of some and the start-to-finish of a few. And when we found there was actually a name for our craft, that there was actually a group of like-minded people, we created our pride and joy History in Motion.
If you are interested in traveling the ArtCar circuit, TheFunGarage can create, combine, and complete your vision. Let us know what you have in mind. If you don’t like our estimate we’re more than willing to give advice.
